Air Traffic Controllers - Live Action(s) (PAR 013-2) CD
A duo can only amuse themselves with a residency at the Saxon Pub for so long. Sooner or later, push is gonna come to shove and they'll have to document just what the fuck they've been up on some kind of dying format, suitable for home consumption. We don't actually know anyone who meets that description, however, but thought it would be fun to have something to flog at the many MMA events and/or Kittens' rights rallies we're invited to play. 57 minutes of the guitar stylings of Gerard Cosloy, backed by the drumming of JJ Ruiz, previously better known as guitarist for Naw Dude, Wild America, The Teeners and others. Audience applause was edited from these live recordings, mostly because we didn't want to intimidate other musicians --- it's tough enough as is for them to take the stage after us (though that's why I always thought a decent mop & bucket would be a rudimentary item to have on hand). As subtle as the Ebola Virus, though possibly not as tuneful. Available on CD March 1 2011, or for download via Bandcamp right now. (mail order prices are postage inclusive).
Air Traffic Controllers - Going Thru The Spanish Announce Table (PAR 012-2) CD
Putting the MEAN back in meander ; Various rehearsal space recordings circa 2007-2009 from the Austin version of ATC, and the final gasps of the band's improvistional bent. Some of these rehearsals were better attended than the handful of shows they were meant to prepare us for. Legend has it Michael Gira supposedly used to tell hi his musicians that he wanted to "smell the sawdust" --- there's no telling how long this lineup of the Air Traffic Controllers would've stayed together had the guitar player not kept uttering that line over and over again. King Coffey's willingness to participate in these sessions is somewhat analogous to Brett Favre working out with the Oak Grove High School (MS) football team ; as always, Gerard Cosloy's stewardship is somewhere between that of a more musical Col. Kurtz (or a less musical James Dolan of J.D. & The Straight Shot). If you like your almost-rock poorly recorded and unfriendly, you'll go fucking ape for this one. Ltd. edition of NOT VERY MANY. Available on CD March 1 2011, or for download via Bandcamp right now.

It's probably all kicking off at around 10. We're on 1st or 2nd. If there's any
confusion, we're the ones without songs.
This is the first Air Traffic Controllers show in 18 months. If you can't make
it, don't worry. We'll be back in 2009.

I hope you are all throbbing and bobbing to learn that the radio show is once
again, back and narrowcasting to your narrow minds on a nightly basis. For those
who didn't bother to check it out previously, it can best be described
as exactly like Resonance FM...except the music doesn't suck, there's no annoying
chat-chit and the programmer is very good looking.
other than that, there's not a ton to report. The long-delayed 6th Air Traffic
Controllers album is gonna sit around for a bit longer while the Parallelism
board of directors debate the proper configuration for this masterpiece ----
CD, CDR, or perhaps a long message
on your answering machine. It should be resolved
soon. And if not...what are you going to do about it?
But we are happy to report that many of this label's associates are enjoying
some degree or another of fame and fortune these days. Our good friends Jackie-O
Motherfucker will follow their recent appearance on the cover of The
Wire with
a forthcoming album on the ATP Recordings imprint, home to highly recomended
new works from Bardo Pond and the Magic Band. U-Sound, Vol. 1 alumni Matthew
Valentine and Erika Elder are pictured in full kodak-esque glory in the latest
issue of The Wire (the one with all the homeless dudes on the cover) and the
talented pair have a new ltd. edition CD on Child Of Microtones entitled ''Daybreak
of Cocola, The Plumage Overtones Of Black Patti'. For more information, you can
write to Matt at [email protected].
And of course, 2/3'rds of the legendary Army Of Ghosts can now be seen
in glossy publications
around the world as the faces & laces behind A.R.E. Weapons. There's
2 types of people in this world --- people who look good when photographed
in Vice, and
people who stare at the magazine wondering how much the ads cost.
But I don't want it to sound as though my entire afternoons are filled
with bitterness and recriminations, watching satellite television and
writing
angry letters
to the Council about that filthy next door neighbor of mine and those
dubious "art films" he's
making all day and night with an ever changing succession of gullible...no,
scratch that, DOOMED young women (some of whom might never be
seen again if the police don't start listening to me). No, my days are
just as fulfilling as those of any of my famous musician ex-friends.
Just the
other day
I
received an e-mail message from a man representing the business interests
of the Hussain Brothers, Uday
and Qusay. It seems that "the man" has really been
hassling
these
brothers! To summarise (I know this is a bit much for some of you numbskulls
to absorb), the sinister siblings have a mountain of cash and they can't let
it fall into Uncle Sam's greedy mitts. All I have to do is supply Parallelism's
bank account number, sort code and password to this guy, and he'll deposit the
entire Hussain fortune. After things "cool down" (should be any day now, I reckon),
I get to keep 15%
of the total. Hey, what's 15% of a zillion? And please, don't talk to me about
"ill-gotten gains". Who amongst us has the right to judge how these
young entrepenuers earned their living?
I read the other day that Kobe Bryant bought his wife a $4 million ring. I'm
not saying this was or wasn't an attempt on his part to smooth things over following
his admited adultery. But a puppy would've been much cheaper. And
who doesn't
want a puppy?

the radio show is down for repairs 11-12 April. "repairs" is
of course, a euphamism for Mr. Cosloy taking a retreat with his
radio mentor, Mike Dickin of TalkSport. Mike will be teaching Gerard
how to enunciate properly, as well as helping Parallelism prepare
formal position papers on such important issues as asylum seekers
(why don't they go back to where they came from?), the euro vs.
the pound, lack of parking in posh neighborhoods, use of the 7
second
delay, etc. Fascinating stuff, if there's a hot tub, you can
bet we'll have pictures!

mail orders received for 'U-Sound, Vol. 1' (PAR 010-2) during early

they just stopped working.

the sometimes-updated / always-beloved Parallelism radio show
will not be broadcast for the next two weeks while I am in
the United
States on a fact-finding mission. In the past, there have been
efforts to replay archived shows from London, but the last
time that happened
the "server" (actually an old laptop relaying the signal
to live365) went ka-boom and in the immortal words of Metal Mike
Saunders it was "lights out". Maybe it was my mother
that said that, very hard to remember sometimes. The show will
be back
on the 19th of March, but if you are starved for dj entertainment,
you can always check out Tim Westwood on Radio
One, Friday nights. Tim plays exactly the same songs
that I do, and he dresses and talks just like me, so much so that
you might not be able to tell the difference.

the mooted ATC simulcast from this morning's Australian Grand Prix
collapsed when F1 officials decided at the last moment to instead
opt for a performance by former Lubricated Goat icon Stu Spasm.
To add insult to injury, I had to go all the way to the airport
and learn at the Quantas desk that my tickets had been revoked.
All is not lost, however. Thanks to a satellite hookup via our close
friends at News Corp., you can listen to an mp3 culled from the qualifying sessions.

over at the U-Sound
site, you can now order CDR's of U-Sound, Volumes 2, 3, 4 and
5, featuring live recordings from Jackie-O Motherfucker (2/3/4)
and Decaer Pinga (vol. 5). There are plans for future U-Sound installations
in Brooklyn (USA) and Brighton (England). When we have details,
then so shall you.
anti:clockwise will be making an all too rare live appearance at Second Floor ,
97 South 6th St. (between Bedford / Berry), Brooklyn on Friday,
March 29 at 9pm. Also performing will be The Fall In Love, Acoustic
Harmonies Of Electric Memories (featuing persons with past or present
associations with Tower Recordings, Pelt, Double Leopards and Un),
Orth, Naturaliste and The SB. Admission is 5 dollars, and your dj's
for the evening are two guys who think their names are worth mentioning.
Technology and higher power willing, there might be a live Air Traffic
Controllers webcast this Sunday, live from the Australian
Grand Prix. We're consulting some of our friends in the microphone
trade about what if anything can be done to make sure
we are audible above the roar of the engines. More news as the big
race draws closer.
I'm obviously stoked to be visiting Australia for the first time
--- I hear the entire country was once some sort of prison camp
for the criminally deranged. How times have changed. But there are
some future Air Traffic Controllers events planned in less exotic
locations ; the first ATC performances in the US since 1999 are
planned for next autumn to coincide with the release of 'Going Thru
The Spanish AnnouncingTable'

We've received correspondence from a few persons in the U.S. complaining
that they cannot find the U-Sound double CD in their local shops.
This makes perfect sense as U.S. distributors are only being shipped
their quantities at this very moment. If you're in or near lower
Manhattan, Mondo Kim's (St. Marks Place between 2nd and 3rd avenues)
has the compilation on sale for $13.99 this week. You'll start seeing
it pop up in other places shortly.
if you missed the live anti:clockwise performance on Brian

the creation of the Special
People Club has generated its share of controversy this
week. N. Cain of London (no relation) writes "it is one of the more
disappointing displays of insecurity I have encountered for some
time. It's so comically vituperative that I'm not especially 'upset'
as such, more amazed that you would resort to so absurd a measure
to exact your own juvenile form of revenge." Nick C. of London
(no relation) adds " try to think about how what you wrote
might appear to a neutral observer who doesn't know anything
about
either of us: a paranoid and mendacious 'essay', characterised
by prolix and cryptic wittering and littered with tiresome
wisecracks
that really aren't nearly as funny as you think they are, which
paints me as some sort of deceitful idiot who arranged a meeting
with you with the sole purpose of pumping you for inside information
about your record label...the whole thing is so undignified
in its
childishness, spite and pique that it's difficult for me not
to feel embarrassed for the both of us."
If the mailbag wasn't full enough this week, we've been contacted
by a handful of self-styled journalists requesting review copies
of the U-Sound compilation. Review copies are available now at the
special journalist discount of $13.00 (USD). True, this is the same price that other mail order
customers are expected to pay. Perhaps you notice a pattern of some
sort developing?

after a painfully long wait, we finally have copies of the U-Sound,
Vol. One double CD available for sale in our new online
shop. The compilation will be hitting record shops in the U.S.
and UK sometime during the month of February (though if you are
interested in carrying the album, please get in touch).
Robert Dennis' anti:clockwise will be performing live on WFMU this coming tuesday 29 January between 3 and 6pm. If you're not
in the NY/NJ area, you can hear the program via Real Audio or iTunes
through the station's many choices of high or low bandwidth streaming
audio connections.
Every now and then we come into contact with exceptional individuals,
persons who through their own sheer force of will, cannot so easily
be discussed in a forum as general as this. With that in mind, we
have created the Special
People Club. Will all inductees into this select group be as
special as our inaugural entry? Only time will tell.

there really is no point in promising future release dates when
we keep missing deadlines. That said, the ferociously delayed 'U-Sound,
Vol. 1' (PAR 010-2) compilation has finally been delivered to the
manufacturer and we're hoping to see finished copies by the first
day of 2002, with commercial release following a few weeks later.
Thank you for your patience, and sincere apologies to all of the
artists, Tom Greenwood, Tim Barnes and everyone else involved in
the project who have waited so long. I can say with full confidence
that the double CD IS coming very soon and no one will be disappointed
with the musical contents or how the package has turned out.
I'm hopeful that in the wake of so many of the U-Sound collective
having released acclaimed new works in 2001 (Jackie-O Motherfucker,
Matthew Valentine, PG6, Tono-Bungay and others) this release will
reach a slightly higher number of homes than the average Parallelism
title. If not, let's just say that we have struck an ususual arrangement
with our U.S. manufacturer that will invlove their taking an equity
interest in Parallelism if a minimum of 3000 copies are not sold.
Said firm have pledged a "practically hands-off" policy
when it comes to Parallelism's repitoire and deny all rumors they
are seeking to sell the label's overstock to a plastic & paper
recycling company for a sum in the low double figures. There was
a brief discussion about a certain boss' daughter having her next
CD released by Parallelism, but we were assured that "the decision
is entirely up to you" and there should be no pressure to issue
these recordings (although what label in their right mind could
possibly pass up the vocal stylings of someone as beautiful and
talented).
Anyhow, this particular discussion has come to a grinding halt as
I've taken the unusual step of having my telephone disconnected
and moving the entire contents of the Parallelism offices to a storeage
space (at an undisclosed location). To those who think I am afraid
of a brutal beating, I say you are absolutely correct. It is one
thing to joke around with faux macho bravado as we are wont to do
on occasion, but it is absolutely another thing to stand on a grown
man's face while your husky colleagues set fire to an honest businessman's
carefully cataloged collection of Big Takeover back issues. It just
isn't fair. I was only a few weeks late with the payments. Just
because my suitcases were packed and I had a plane ticket to Portland
doesn't mean anything. I've got a cousin in Portland!
But you don't want to hear about my problems. We are currently living
in a scary, confusing world. My own personal injuries and attempts
to make sense of these traumatic events (as documented on the forthcoming
Air Traffic Controllers CD 'Going Through The Spanish Announcing
Table' (PAR 011-2) are hardly worthy of commentary, not compared
to the courage and spirit exemplified by the millions of Americans
who have flown the Stars & Stripes from their front lawns, apartment
windows, pickup trucks, etc. What better way to celebrate all that
is great about America than to remind everyone what country they
are living in every minute of the day. Truly, the flag is a symbol
of enduring freedom ---- think of how free you'll be to endure a
patriotic ass-kicking if you don't stand up and sing "God Bless
America" during the 7th inning stretch.
I
never liked that song very much, nor did I like the way the NHL's
Philadelphia Flyers and their lowlife fans adopted the overwrought
rendition by Kate Smith as their personal pre-game inspiration during
the 1970's. Kate Smith was harder to look at than she was to listen
to. Ever time she set foot upon the Spectrum ice, I was convinced
the surface would break, sending Bobby Clarke, Dave Shultz, Bernie
Parent and the rest of the Broad Street Bullies to a watery grave.
It never happened, and I think they were just lucky. Perhaps the
Flyers and other US sports franchises will consider having an exciting
new voice sing "God Bless America", "America The
Beautiful" and other stirring odes to The Land Of The Free.
Pending the sales results of PAR 010-2 (see above) Parallelism will
be presenting the debut of 15 year old Molly Lipps, described by
none other than her father Murray Lipps as "the new Jewel,
only much, much younger." Mr. Lipps and his associates are
of the opinion that this ingenue has what it takes to turn America's
frown upside down. I'd love to argue with them, but my jaw has been
wired shut.

I'd apologize for the lack of news updates, but it isn't as though
you have been doing anything for me lately. Correction, I take that
back, there are a few readers who have been very forthcoming with
offers of backrubs, holiday cruises and visits to exotic restaurants.
I've had to refuse them all, because frankly, these people make
me sick. You know the oft-quoted Groucho Marx saying "I wouldn't
want to hit you in the face with a shovel because then I'd go to
prison" ?
Well
not me. I've never heard that saying until just a few minutes ago,
and it was someone else that said it.
Parallelism's release schedule lurches back into action this autumn
with the compilation album,
'The Tuesday Night Music Series' - U-Sound, Vol. 1' (PAR 010-2).
Compiled by Tom Greenwood and assembled by TG and Tim Barnes, The
Tuesday Night Music Series is a collection of live to DAT recordings
from 1999 and 2000, as performed at New York City's Pink Pony, as
part of a series curated by Tom and Army Of Ghosts, then later Tom
himself. The all-star cast on this double CD is listed below, and
includes past or present members of ensembles including Test, Tower
Recordings, Retsin, Air Traffic Controllers, and of course, people
who know people who have stood in the same room as ARE Weapons.
The full track listing is as follows :
Disc One
Matthew Valentine - Jud, The Obscure
Glands of External Secretion - Muscat
Daniel Carter Ensemble - Untitled, 1
Black Magic Ð Black Magic, Ltd.
Prick Decay - Decaer Pinga
Sair Flora - Hummingbird (Tara Jane O'Neil, Tom Greenwood)
Michael Hurley - The Aliens
Eagle Blood - Saul Williams Interlude
Greg Anderson / Rob Hall Duo - Up In Flames
Jackie O-Motherfucker - 16 Sunrises
Jeff Perkins & PG 6 - Fluxus Cab Ride
Glands Of External Secretion - Demeter
The Double Leopards - I, Wonderland
Disc Two
Sewerz Ð NY Best
Unity Sound Ensemble - Chant (U-Nation)
Furchick with The Armaround - Angel Of My Dreams (Claire Pannell)
Joshua Burkett - The King Of Hamilton Camp
Tono Bungay - SCZPLK
The Doves - Doves Love Love
Army Of Ghosts - Live Jazz
Jackie O-Motherfucker - Janis Crush
Far Fetched - Bringers of Brought (Tara Jane O'Neil, Tom Greenwood,
Jef Brown)
Lady E Quartet - Courtship of Fangoso Lagoons
Daniel Carter & Jackie-O Motherfucker Ð Untitled 2
The long awaited double CD should be available towards the end of
October. There is some talk of a new U-Sound series being mounted
by Mr. Greenwood to take place in Glasgow at the end of 2001, but
you know people talk. They go on and on. They never seem to shut
up. Even when you've hit them in the face with a shovel, they still
continue to moan about how "I won't do it again" and "please
stop, oh my god" and that sort of thing. Please, the next time
something that predictable comes out of your yap-hole, keep in mind
that I've heard it before.
Prior
to Christmas, the 6th album from the Air Traffic Controllers, 'Going
Through The Spanish Announcing Table' (PAR 011-2) will be unveiled
in all its digital glory. More information on titles and players
after our legal department has sorted through everything.
The Parallelism Radio program has had its ups and downs the past
few months ; in July there were some server failure issues with
Live365 that had to be addressed (I think we should have addressed
them to "Dear Fuckhead"). In August, we had some computer
repairs to deal with on our end. Thanks to our colleague, a Mr.
G. Glitter of Havana, we were refered to a firm known as PC World.
Following an extensive investigation on the part of Scotland
Yard,
FBI, Interpol and the Knights of Columbus, Parallelism's computers
were returned to us a few weeks later and we are now back in
business.
If you would like to send any material to be considered for broadcast,
please go ahead, but do keep in mind that if your stuff was any
good
we would have already damned it with faint praise a long time ago.
Finally, I would like to apologise to our close friends, the Laundry
Room Squelchers, who graciously invited Air Traffic Controllers
to support them on their recent visit to Brighton. We were all prepared
to make the trip when we consulted Fodor's Guide To Oceanside Resorts.
Upon learning that Brighton was in fact "littered with sea
trash", and had the UK's highest concentration of venereal
disease, a hasty decision was made to tell our hosts that our equipment
had been stolen. Imagine our suprise when the Laundry Room Squelchers
donated their share of the night's gate receipts to us, in the hopes
it help us reclaim the pilfered instruments
I don't know what kind of music stores they have in Miami, FL, but
in LONDON, one of the world's most glamorous and cosmpolitan cities,
it takes more than 11.75 GBP to purchase several guitars, amplifiers,
effects, flight cases and stage-wear. I am familiar with the expression
"it is the thought that counts", but perhaps they could
have thought of sending more money.
thank
you very much,

Dear Fans, This is Gerard Cosloy. This is my first time writing
you all personally, because this is a serious issue. I love all
my fans, but I am a little bit angry with my record company. Aren't
you mad? I am on a big label, but I am getting no promotion. The
label fucked up a lot of stuff that you kids want to have access
to. The video should be on TV for you kids to see. The video was
done before my tour. You can call and email the following people
to ask them what's going on. My project is available, but I know
it's hard for you not to get any of the material, and latest updates.
You should really e-mail these people constantly, to give you the
information that you need about the Whisper Number CD. Visually,
radio time, show updates, and next singles and albums. You can email
these people 24 hours a day, and you will get a response. Write
in your complaints about the album not being seen in your local
stores, or wherever you can't find product. Email these people and
tell them why you're angry that you haven't seen my new video. Email
these people 24 hours a day nonstop, you will get a response. Ask
for wigs, product, posters, videos, radio, and etc. And that's it.
Here is who you can ask what:
to : [email protected] Why is Gerard Cosloy getting no Promotion?
Why is Parallelism Records not supporting Gerard Cosloy? Why is
nothing getting done? Why do I never see Gerard Cosloy on TV shows
like Letterman or Moesha? Why is Gerard Cosloy not getting played
on the radio? Why hasn't he been on Howard Stern? Why isn't his
video getting played on MTV? Why isn't his video getting played
on BET? Why isn't his video getting played on THE BOX? Why is GerardCosloy.com
owned by Columbia Records? Why haven't you given Gerard the digital
camera you promised him? Why is parallelism.com never updated? Please
be nice and professional to these people. Don't curse them out or
harass them. But please, ask them the questions you want answered.
Even if you don't see the questions here, feel free to ask them
any questions pertaining to Gerard Cosloy and Parallelism Records.
Felel free to email them often, until you get the response you are
looking for. Remember, it is up to you fans to make your voices
heard. Tell them what you think they should be. Let us know what
you are writing these people. Please forward a copy of all of your
letters to [email protected]. Thank you.

some news to come regarding an early april Air Traffic Controllers
live event at a South-of-London seaside resort as part of a star-studded
bill. No, not All Tomorrow's Parties. Our invitation must've been
lost in the mail ---- funny, I think the Laundry Room Squelchers
also managed to misplace theirs. How do these things happen.
The delayed-as-fuck U-Sound, Vol. 1 double CD has been carefully
assembled by Mr. Greenwood and Mr. Barnes. Now it us up to label
management to mishandle the artwork and miss a few more self-imposed
deadlines. I'd apologize to the artists involved, but if they had
satellite television, maybe they'd have some idea of what I am going
through. Walk-a-mile in this lounge chair before you make any accusations.
The Parallelism Boards Of Directors (myself, Mr. Ringo, and an imaginary
multi-instrumentalist/chef named Julius E. Uppercut ) regret to
announce that the label is now sharing office space with a fledgling
rock independent, 12XU. We can
assure you, the devout anti-rock snob clientele that we have worked
so hard to impress, there will be no pathetic attempts at cross-promotional
"synergy" between the 2 companies, thank you very much. If you happen
to receive a 30 count box of Army Of Ghosts CD's with your Spoon mailorder, please understand that this was merely an error on the

hey, look at the inflammatory shit I can spew when I don't live
in New York anymore! Anyhow, tonight's anti:clockwise performance
at the Parkside Lounge has been moved to the Pink Pony (10pm) due
to circumstances entirely within the control of some jackass at
the former venue. So fuck 'em, their loss, etc. ,

anti:clockwise will be playing at the lovely Parkside Lounge in
Lower Manhattan on January 24. I'm not going to say your attendence
is required because you are all adults with your own lives to lead.
But it wouldn't be a shame if something happened to your lovely
family just because you couldn't find the time.
2 new releases hit the shops, and some long-awaited
press coverage for the label's flagship act, 2 October 2000
please have a look at the records section, where there are still no records for sale. We do, however,
have 2 brand new, long-in-the-churning compact discs, available
4-real on 9 October; Air Traffic Controllers - Whisper Number (PAR
008) and anti:clockwise - rewatching (PAR 009). These historic titles and the visionaries
who paid someone to manufacture them, are described in detail in
our new updated artists section. This section is sometimes known as the "about" section,
and plans to amend it to a "about it, about it" section were scrapped
on the grounds that it makes no sense and sounds too much like someone
else.
The hystericaly-delayed Tuesday Night Music Series - U-Sound Volume
One double CD (PAR 010-2), is, y'know, hysterically delayed, but
the curators are working O.T. of the sudden death variety to bring
this sprawling collection into your home sometime before the end
of the year. Recorded live to DAT at New York's Pink Pony, U-Sound
Vol. One will include previously unheard recordings from Jackie-O
Motherfucker, Michael Hurley, Sai Flora (w/ Tara Jane O'Neil), Eagle
Blood (w/ Saul Williams), Furchick w/ the Armaround (aka Claire
Panell), Hall Of Fame, Greg Anderson/Rob Hall Duo, Prick Decay,
Daniel Carter, Robert Dennis, Tim Barnes and many others.
I've been told that the tone of the last update was particularly
bitter, and some of our younger readers might've been unneccessarily
bummed out by comments concerning the media. The last thing I would
ever want to do is discourage this label's ardent fans from buying,
consuming, believing every printed word they see --- especially
those that are misspelled. Fortunately, I can report that not every
publication is run by self-serving, corrupt jackasses (only those
that we advertise in). Sincere thanks to one of the underground's
most respect periodicals for running the following interview in
their latest issue :
(Gerard Cosloy of Air Traffic Controllers, interviewed in an upcoming
edition of Sound Projector) :
Q: When you first started wearing clown faces and all that, how
did people react to you?
A: "They hated it. I remember we opened up for Esham and the entire
crowd--they didn't boo us off, but they didn't move. I've never
seen anything like that to this day. They just stood there and looked
at us. We said "throw your hands in the air", and nobody would move.
It was unbelievable. In all my years of doing shows, all throughout
Europe too, I've played new markets in Spain, Germany, but I've
never seen anything like that."
Q: The beats on 'Whisper Number' are very different from your last
album.
A: "Why the beats are so different is because we brought in another
producer, Funk Beta. He brought in his own flavor to sprinkle around
on everything. He did a lot of this album. We're just trying as
a company to grow, just trying to move, bring some people up in
it. Might fuck with some big names next time, but we're just tryin
to put something on the map ourselves. Let people know who Funk
Beta is. He can spread and do shit. I did a couple tracks though.
I did "Disintermediation", "'Music Supervisor' Is No Job For A Man",
I did a couple. I just wanted to see how it would feel to bust on
somebody else's shit. I been doin my own shit for years. First New
York came out with its own sound with Heart Attack. The new New
York sound is different, it's the sound that's coming from your
camp. Exactly. We done elevated and put the 2000 blend on this new
New York style. It's all coming from Heart Attack, cause we grew
up on Heart Attackt. But we're young and it's our turn to put it
down like they did. Exactly how Heart Attack did it, we're gonna
come with this flavor right here. It's a full flavor. It's a whole
nother flavor of 3 X. It's raw and uncut, it's hard as fuck, it's
gonna set everything down when it drops. Physically and mentally.
We got fully automatic weapons and we got fully automatic knowledge."
Q: When is the new Air Traffic Controllers album set to be released?
A : "We got a street date for October the 23rd, right around Halloween.
We're gonna be right up in your face like pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns
and shit. It's gonna be October 23rd, just in time for you to go
trick or treatin bumpin that. . The new Air Traffic Controllers
album, I feel it's just phenomenal. We got tracks on there that
I believe everybody in the world is gonna love. There's no particular
race or sector that's gonna embrace this album any harder than the
other race. It's just slammin like that. I'm very excited about
it. This is gonna drop from the heavens. It's comin, man, I'm tellin
you. This album is so hot. It's so on fire. The gamma rays, it's
so radio active! They're lookin for it right now, they got the meters
on the ground lookin for it--beep, beep, beep--it's about to blow
up.. The shit is so wicked. I don't even wanna say how dope it is,
let's just say it's dope. The shit is so goddamn potent. When you
hear this shit you're gonna OD. off it, it's potent. I'm tellin
you, we done put everything into this baby. We done put too much
on there. It's a kick in the head. It's gonna give you a concussion."
Whew. Spreading that much wisdom is exhausting work --- I'd like
to see you try it sometime without straining something.
Here's a gem from a web address we were forced to delete : "downtown
is more than just a zip code". Downtown milwaukee? How about "'downtown'
is no excuse for being less than civil", and feel free to share
that one with anyone who isn't going out of business (yet).

1' (PAR 010-2) during early

the sometimes-updated / always-beloved Parallelism radio show
will not be broadcast for the next two weeks while I am in

Thanks to a satellite hookup via our close
friends at News Corp., you can listen to an mp3

site, you can now order CDR's of U-Sound, Volumes 2, 3, 4 and
5, featuring live recordings from Jackie-O Motherfucker (2/3/4)
and Decaer Pinga (vol. 5). There are plans for future U-Sound installations
in Brooklyn (USA) and Brighton (England). When we have details,
then so shall you.
anti:clockwise
will be making an all too rare live appearance at Second Floor ,
97 South 6th St.

Review copies are available now at the
special journalist discount of
$13.00 (USD).

Robert Dennis' anti:clockwise will be performing live on WFMU
this coming tuesday 29 January between 3 and 6pm.

Black Magic Black Magic, Ltd.

Thank you.

for those of you caught in "late-night traffic" here's a small snippet
from last wednesday's anti:clockwise
performance at the pink pony in quicktime video.

correction time. the previously touted anti:clockwise gigs will
be/ have been taking place at the pink pony. that includes this
coming Wednesday night, February 28. In a related note, the online
radio show will not be broadcast on February 28, 29 or March 1

so maybe the parkside lounge isn't that bad after all. seems as
though bar mgmt. and mr. dennis have kissed and made up (or maybe
just made up). you can catch the 3rd and 4th nights of anti:clockwise's
parkside lounge residency on 21 and 28 February. weather permitting,
video footage from the 2/28 performance will be available on this
site soon afterwards.
as you might've noticed, the radio
program is now available most evenings from midnight (est) onwards.
the archive
of old playlists is updated the following morning.
some news to come regarding an early april Air Traffic Controllers
live event at a South-of-London seaside resort as part of a star-studded
If you happen
to receive a 30 count box of Army Of Ghosts CD's with your Spoon
mailorder, please understand that this was merely an error on the
part of our shipping department. It is not necessary that you reply
to the enclosed invoice ---- fuck, if Cargo don't, why should you?
25 January 2001 - fuck. the. parkside.
lounge.
hey, look at the inflammatory shit I can spew when I don't live
in New York anymore! Anyhow, tonight's anti:clockwise performance
at the Parkside Lounge has been moved to the Pink Pony (10pm) due
to circumstances entirely within the control of some jackass at
the former venue. So fuck 'em, their loss, etc. ,
15 January 2001 - pretend you're in
a focus group
if you'd like to listen to a test version of what may or may not
be a regularly scheduled, weekly broadcast, click here.
Those of you with a 56k connection and up, using items such as SoundJam,
Real Player and the like, should be able to figure it out. These
test-casts will be running most of this week from midnight (GMT)
/ 7pm (EST) for about 4 or 5 hours...2 hours of music repeated.
Requests other than "a little more to the right" will not be honoured.
a list of the previous evening's playlists can be found here.
13 January 2001
anti:clockwise will be playing at the lovely Parkside Lounge in
Lower Manhattan on January 24. I'm not going to say your attendence
is required because you are all adults with your own lives to lead.
But it wouldn't be a shame if something happened to your lovely
family just because you couldn't find the time.
2 new releases hit the shops, and some long-awaited
press coverage for the label's flagship act, 2 October 2000
please have a look at the records
section, where there are still no records for sale. We do, however,
have 2 brand new, long-in-the-churning compact discs, available
4-real on 9 October; Air Traffic Controllers - Whisper Number (PAR
008) and anti:clockwise
- rewatching (PAR 009). These historic titles and the visionaries
who paid someone to manufacture them, are described in detail in
our new updated artists
section.
